About the Author

 Nan Kopitnik is a Board-Certified Addiction Medicine Physician in active practice, specializing in the treatment of patients with combined addiction and mental health disorders. She serves as an editor for several online medical  reference resources and is an investigator in national studies of new treatments for addiction disorders. She has published articles in medical journals, lectured at national meetings on addiction, and counseled numerous families. 

She is the author of four children's books and The Clockwork Adventures, a dystopian adventure series. She loves to weave relationship issues into exciting adventure stories. She is a great fan of the novels of Patrick Dennis and Ernest Hemingway.

She is currently completing the second book in her mystery series, The Messy Life of Dr. Olivia Day.  The series kicks off with The Mayhem and Medical Mischief of Dr. Olivia Day,.This introductory novella features short horror stories showcasing the adventures of a home-visiting physician and her trusty assistant. The duo confront a mystery involving a kidnapped psychiatrist and their nefarious employer. The story has a comedic twist as the duo unravel a mystery and confront ghosts from their past in the New England seaside town of Brighton Isle. Also in progress, Getting Rid of Carl, a humorous novel about a New Orleans husband who just refuses to go quietly into that good night!

Her latest achievement is the completion of the Masters of Fine Arts Creative Writing Degree Program at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.  She is an annual vendor at Megacon Orlando, Tampa Bay Comic-Con, Tampa Metrocon, Gaming Community Expo, and Holiday Matsuri, Orlando, where she sells books and merchandise from her company, TinyDog Books.  She is the keeper of toy robots and one remarkable tinydog.  She is the handler of five large, rescue parrots that bite with reckless abandon and the proud mother of two exceptionally creative children.

About the Illustrator

     Clara Kay is an illustrator, concept artist, and 3D animator located in Central Florida. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Emerging Media: Character Animation from the University of Central Florida.

 

     Clara is a Florida native. She has always been surrounded by the arts, having grown up on Nintendo games and Disney movies. She enjoys horror media and challenging modern storytelling techniques. Illustration and concept art are her passion, and she loves designing worlds and characters with intricate stories. She has been writing and illustrating for her own stories since she could hold a pencil. Her passion for art and design comes from growing up playing video games. She has participated in dozens of online fan-made art anthologies called "fanzines," being an active member of the zine community. She loves tabling at conventions like MegaCon in Orlando, and enjoys presenting her work to the public. Clara is a published illustrator for three children's books, and is currently working on several more.
